Local officials and business owners were happy with the news Monday that the new owners of troubled national clothing chain Steve & Barry's have renegotiated the lease at 63 Springfield St. and plan to keep their store there open.

On June 4, 2008, John McCain's total favorable rating was 53% and Obama's 55%. On July 7th it was 54%/56% Obama leading. August 7th, it was 56% McCain, 54% Obama. Today, 8/26, shows McCain viewed favorably by 57% and Obama sliding to 53%, in spite of being in the middle of his convention, where historically all candidates have tracked upward.
